Round Up – The Whole Truth – October 21- Update!

We Got This Cover posted another clip from The Whole Truth on youtube.

Lionsgate Premiere shared a gif and another promo poster on twitter here and here.

Dan Gunderman reviewed The Whole Truth for the NY Daily News and gave it 3/5 stars. A few Keanu mentions are below.

While it does fall victim to a number of genre tropes, it is fronted by a believable Keanu Reeves and a pleasantly deceitful Renee Zellweger.

When “The Whole Truth” excels the most, and doles out its most suspenseful rulings, it is backing Reeves’ character Richard Ramsay into a corner.

It is always pleasant to see Reeves in a leading role, and he channels the small-town lawyer quite wonderfully (almost “The Devil’s Advocate”-esque).

Conor O’Donnell reviewed the film for The Film Stage and gave it a C+. They said the following about the flashback technique used to advance the unraveling of the crime.

Herein lies one of the film’s only worthwhile flourishes. As witnesses testify, simultaneous flashback reveals the truth (oh now I get it!), allowing us to watch them lie and embellish in real time. It’s nothing particularly novel, but it certainly adds a bit of ongoing intrigue into otherwise standard proceedings. It grants the film, in fits and spurts, an ability to play with the idea of why people lie and the amorphous nature of perspective.

Update: Steve Greene reviewed The Whole Truth for the IndieWire and gave it a C+.

Chris Bumbray reviewed the film for JoBlo and gave it 5/10 stars.

Robert Yaniz, Jr. reviewed the film for We Got This Covered and gave it 2.5/5 stsrs.
