Jayne Stars has posted a translation of a review of Man of Tai Chi from the Chinese site ent.qq. It is an interesting read and gives some insight as to the poor performance of the film in China. In a nutshell, the fight scenes are the highlight of the film. The storyline was weak and Tiger did not deliver in the acting department. Also, the film fails in it’s attempt to blend East and West cultures. When all is said and done, Man of Tai Chi is still an American film despite taking place in China, having a Chinese name, and Chinese actors.
