Keanu Reeves Live Blogs on Weibo

Thanks to Ayako for the link!

Keanu Reeves is currently live blogging on Weibo this afternoon with Tiger. Several photos have surfaced of this momentous event. Right now I am seeing lots of questions but very few answers.

Here are questions that currently have answers. I will refresh after I make additions. Also my comments are in italics.

Q: Keanu what do you think of 3D? As a producer you will use it in the future?
A: 3D is great if it’s done right. I just did a 3D film, 47 Ronin, and had a great experience.

Q: In order to film MOTC, you came to China and even personally went to 8 cities to promote the film which is regarded as a first for a Hollywood star, How are you feeling? What impression did the eight cities leave you with? Note from the answer below, I’m wondering if he was being asked if he was disappointed with the turnout after all the promotion.
A: I was not expecting it and I was hoping it would turn around with the support of the audience this weekend. More people need to know about the movie so please spread the word!

Q: I think the movie just focus on the advocacy (went to 8 cities and tired to death)and ignored the hype. This model does not seem appropriate for the Chinese market, you have not thought about this issue. After all, word of mouth is a good movie. Note: Nothing like insulting him.
A: I prefer to focus my energy on the merit of the film and hope that people enjoy it and spread the word rather than use “tricks” to market it. I also really enjoyed visiting all the cities on the tour and meeting movie goers and fans.

Q: Question is when we growing up we will find out there are some dark rules in the society, in Keanu’s point of view, should we fight against them straightly,or should we make compromises?
A: That is a tough question in life… I hope we can deal with dark rules in a straight manner, but if we have to compromise, we learn and hopefully can stay true to ourselves.

Q: Donaka just completely a bad guy or is there anything good about him?
A: There is a saying, “Your worst enemy can be your best teacher.” This idea is probably best to experience in a movie rather than real life. 🙂 Donaka is Tiger’s dark master.

Q: Russian fans wondering will they be able to see the film in theaters in Russia?
A: Yes!

Q: Keanu,I like you since I was 8.Only if you could say something to me,my life would be compeleted, would you please say something to me beside “Thank you”
A: Happy Birthday on all your Birthdays! I wish you health and good days. -KR

Q: Dear Mr. Reeves, it seems you will leave China soon, so what will you miss the most in China? Will you ever come back ? Thank you!
A: Thank you and to everyone who watched Man of Tai Chi, have a great summer! I look forward to coming back. -KR (Lao Li)

Q: Keanu you are about to leave China soon? Re you reluctant to leave? Hey! Thank you
A: es I am leaving soon. I had an amazing experience here and will never forget working and living in Beijing and Hong Kong. Most of all, I will miss my friend Chen Hu, but hopefully I will see him when he comes to the US for promotion.

Q: Keanu, what was your the most difficult choice as a director?
A: …Difficult choices are creative choices- and this is what makes it great.

Note: Someone also asked if he was taking Long-Long, his ‘Little Friend’, back to America and Keanu said absolutely! We will get to see if his fascination with the stuff toy continues.

The live blog has ended. I’m sure there were some questions that were missed due to the time it took to translate the questions and load them.

Thanks to the fan for sharing the photos and to Ayako for tweeting them.
