Melinda Newman sat down with sound mixer David MacMillian to talk about some of his memorable film shoots for HitFix. Mr. MacMilliam, who won an Oscar and a BAFTA Film Award in 1995 for Best Sound for Speed, remembers the film as being one of the most cramped shoots that he worked on. He recounts how he captured the sound during filming. He also mentions that Sandra Bullock has great skin and doesn’t sweat which made it easier to attach a mic to her skin.
