Spaihts Says Again That Passengers Looks Good

With the press junket and premiere of Prometheus being held in London this week, attention is once again focused on Jon Spaihts who was involved in the film during the early stages. Spaihts’ screenplay, Passengers, which he wrote for Keanu Reeves and Steve Hamel, earned him a place on the 2007 Black list. Ever since, he has been in demand.

In an interview with Edward Douglas for Shock Till You Drop, Spaihts was asked about Passengers. He recounts how he came about developing Passengers and discusses the current status of the film. He ended with:

It is probably the best thing I’ve written and the best loved thing, and it is a turbulent road in Hollywood. Everyone loves it. Everybody wants to make it, and yet it’s kind of hard to make. So there’s been a constant scrum of activity around this since the day I wrote it, but even to this moment, we have yet to get it made, although things look very good now in ways that I can’t talk about. It’s always a struggle to give birth to a movie.
