Tribeca Films announced a while ago that Side by Side would premiere on VOD on August 22. They just announced that Side by Side will also open in select theaters. To qualify for an Oscar nomination in the documentary category, a film must have a seven day run in both a NYC (Manhattan) and a LA theater.
