New Details on 47 Ronin – Reeves Character to Be Beefed Up

The LA Times has a new piece out discussing some of the problems with four of Hollywood”s biggest 2012 movies that have been delayed until 2013. All four films have unique problems but the article points out that such problems are the unintended side effect of their respective studios’ desire to have the most profitable release dates. It it common now a days for studios to set release dates, often before they even have a script.

Ronin is a complex film with a budget of $170 million. There were conflicts on the Ronin set and Universal had problems with first time director Carl Rinsch. Universal will be reshooting the ending of 47 Ronin as well as other sequences in the film. The LA Times is reporting that the new filming will beef up Keanu Reeves’ character making the film less of an ensemble piece.
