Huairou Film Base is a huge studio complex that is approximately an hour away from Beijing by car. It is at the center of Chinese Film Production and the largest of it’s kind in Asian. The studio complex provides comprehensive facilities for production and post-production including 16 studios, a digital production shop and a prop/costume warehouse.
The Chinese government has decided to allow the importation of more movies into China and has also agreed to give producers a larger cut from films distributed there. As a result, Huairou Film Base has the potential to become a hot spot for USA movie makers.
The Huairou Film Base scored a major coup when Keanu Reeves signed on to film Man of Tai Chi at the facility. They are hoping that more Hollywood movie makers will follow in Mr. Reeves’ foot steps and bring their productions to Huairou.
