The Wrap is reporting that Keanu Reeves has signed on to star in a sci-fi thriller, Replias. The announcement came from Lotus Entertainment and di Bonaventura Pictures. The shoot is scheduled to begin filming in spring of 2015 and will be directed by Tanya Wexler.
Here is the short synopsis that was given:
After a car accident kills his loving family, a daring neuroscientist (Reeves) will stop at nothing to bring them back, even if it means pitting himself against a government-controlled laboratory, a police task force, and the physical laws of science themselves.
Lorenzo di Bonaventura, who was at Warner Brothers in t˙e 1990’s, has worked previously with Keanu in The Matrix franchise and Constantine. You an read the entire piece here.
Update: Variety is reporting that Chad St. John wrote the screen play based on a treatment developed by Stephen Hammel and Keanu Reeves. Lorenzo di Bonventura, Hamel and Reeves will be producing. This appears to be a project that was developed by Company Films.
