Jeff Sneider is reporting for The Wrap that Keanu Reeves is in talks to star in Tarsems Singh’s Panopticon. The information came from multiple individuals familiar with the project and one insider warned that there is no official deal in place. The film appears to be another actioner-thriller with sci-fi overtones with the following storyline synopsis:
The Panopticon follows a seemingly ordinary man who receives a mysterious package containing a pre-recorded message from himself, warning that the world is about to end and only he can save it. He must race against the clock to piece together the puzzle before time runs out for mankind.
This project, which is the property of Good Universe, was announced over a year ago on August 8, 2013 by The Wrap. It appears to have trouble getting off of the ground.
Note: If we see an announcement saying Keanu has signed on the dotted line, then we will have another film to look forward to. With no one talking on the record, this news appears to be at the rumor level for now.
