Josh Horowitz from MTV News was successful getting Keanu Reeves to open up a bit about Man of Tai Chi during their interview at the Side by Side screening at the MoMA.
Mr. Reeves has already shared that he worked on the script for five or so years. A fan of martial arts movies, he said the following about his latest project:
“My take on it was to not have action for action’s sake and try to incorporate instead of action sequences… they were also story telling, not just plot but character development,” he said. “It wasn’t just evil versus good or angry and defending.
During the course of the interview, he also shared that he and Alex Winter had done some rehearsals with the new Ted & Bill 3 script with the writers for the purpose of saying some of the dialogue and getting a feel for it. In addition Josh Horowitz talked to Alex Winter a few months earlier and he also said they he and Keanu had did some riffing in character. Alex also commented on how easy it was to get back into character.
