The Wrap is reporting that Keanu Reeves and Jim Carey have signed on to Lily Amirpour’s annibal love story, The Bad Batch. The Wrap says the following about the plot:
A post-apocalyptic tale set in a Texas wasteland where a community of cannibals reside, “The Bad Batch” is described as a love story about a cannibal known as Miami Man (Momoa) and his food.
Keanu Reeves will be playing The Dream and Jim Carey The Hermit. They will also be selling the film at Cannes in May.
Note: For someone who doesn’t like to be type cast and likes to mix his genres up, it seems like he is stuck in a horror film rut, but that’s just me.
Update: Deadline has reported a few more details. The film will begin shooting next month in LA. Also Lily Amirpour won the Gotham Award for Breakthrough Director for her debut A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night.
Note: Neon Demon is starting at the end of March and this new one also starts sometime next month. Makes me wonder is Keanu’s roles will be small in both films.
