Fundamental is worth watching. According to its own website, ‘The company has recently structured an equity fund dedicated to finance the development and the production of its own slates. The English slate is built-up through the Los Angeles office while the Chinese slate is developed through the offices in China (Shanghai & Beijing). Asides from its own developments, Fundamental Films is partnering with Luc Besson’s EuropaCorp on numerous projects among which two first co-productions have started: “Warrior’s Gate” and the reboot of the “Transporter” series. In addition, Fundamental Films currently has first-look development deals in place with Basil Iwanyk’s Thunder Road and Keanu Reeves’ Company Films…
Note: In April 2013, The Hollywood Reporter posted that Company Films signed a deal to develop and co-finance an undisclosed number of future film projects with Fundamental Films. It is not clear if this is what is being referred to above or if there is an additional deal in place.
