Box Office Pro is currently predicting that John Wick: Chapter 3 will made $30 – 40 million during its opening weekend.
Points working in the films favor:
- The franchise to date has been very popular with John Wick: Chapter 2 earning $30.4 million its opening weekend and finishing its domestic run with $92 million.
- When the film opens on May 17, there will be a lack of other action films targeting the adult male demographic. While Avengers: Endgame will give it competition, hat film opens three weeks later. Also, Memorial Day weekend will fall during the second weekend of JW3’s run giving it another boost.
- Reactions to the JW3 trailers have been very positive.
