The Playlist is reporting that filmmaker Joe Carnahan, known for speaking his mind, talked candidly about his career for CineFix’s “Hollywood Trenches” web series. The episode is being released in seven parts and only the first two are currently out.
During the first segment, he says that Carl Rinsch should have never been given such a huge budget for the first feature film, 47 Ronin, that he directed. Carnahan made the point that such a large budget stifles creativity, results in too much interference by the studio and puts undue stress on the director.
