Registration in the media gallery has been set on manual registration activation from the start and for whatever reason, verification emails were being sent regardless of the fact that box was NOT checked. From previous posts in the support forum, I have identified the problem in the code and have repaired it. Registration appears to be working properly now. Thanks to the users that made me aware of the problem. Apologies to those who were inconvenienced.
