Deadline Hollywood is reporting that Radius-TWC has acquired the North American rights to Keanu Reeves’ Man of Tai Chi in a low seven figure minimum guarantee. Radius plans to release the film in the fourth quarter of 2013 (Oct – Dec period).
Tom Quinn and Jason Janego from Radius have said the following about the film:
“Keanu has done a terrific job with Man Of Tai Chi, which features some of the most kick ass fight scenes we’ve seen in a long time. Tiger Chen, Iko Uwais and a whole ensemble of hard hitting badasses deliver the goods.”
Keanu Reeves had the following to say about the deal:
“I could not hope for a better home than Radius-TWC for Man Of Tai Chi. Their passion, understanding and support of the film is what a filmmaker wishes for in bringing their storytelling to the widest possible audience.” Deal was made by Weinstein Company COO David Glasser and Quinn and Janego, who all negotiated the deal with CAA.

Note: Back on December 14, 2011 THR reported the following:
Village Roadshow Asia’s affiliates will distribute Man of Tai Chi in Australia, New Zealand and Singapore, by China Film Group and Wanda Media Group in China and by Universal in the rest of the world.
With the news of Radius-TWC acquiring the rights for North America, it is no longer clear where Universal fits into the picture and if they will still distribute to other countries not covered by Village Roadshow Asia as previously announced.
