Keanu Reeves, Chen Hu and Yeh Qing are attending a press conference in Wuhan to promote Man of Tai Chi. The Man of Tai Chi weibo page is covering the event.
Keanu was asked at what time he knew martial arts and how does he feel. Keanu said the he learned Kung Fu with the start of The Matrix. He learned more than 200 martial arts moves from Tiger plus he learned a lot more from Yuen Woo-Ping.
Yeh was asked if Keanu was a serious director. She said that he used to be a good actor and now he is a good director. She said he was very serious.
Tiger was asked what movies inspired him. He said that the film making process is very long. He said that some people feel that the process is very plain. We wanted to show that the transformation process was slow and plain, not what you would see in a fantasy movies. That was the director’s intent. (The site must have lhave not reported the whole question because Tiger’s answer doesn’t seem to match it.)
Keanu was asked if the Tai Chi Man (Tiger’s character) was similar to the super hero in Iron Man or Batman. Keanu said that tai Chi man is not a super hero. It was his intent for Tiger to play an ordinary young man who constantly strives to become a hero by using his own strength.
