Reviews have started to post for Keanu’s documentary, Brawn – The Impossible Formula One Story.
Daniel Moxon reviewed the documentary for The Mirror and gave t 4/4 stars. They said the following about Keanu:
Hollywood megastar Keanu Reeves may seem like an odd choice to narrate and host at first, but from a very early stage it become apparent he is having a whale of a time, cracking jokes with interviewees and showing great, genuine interest in the subject matter. He handles the interviews well for the most part but, understandably, withers in the presence of former F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone whose bluntness leaves Reeves speechless on more than one occasion.
Sam Hall wrote a positive review of the documentary for Motorsport.com. He said the following about Keanu:
…there were concerns over whether a Hollywood actor that few, if any, had recognised as being an F1 fan should be handed the reigns on an unscripted documentary such as this. But by the end of the introduction to episode one, these fears were washed away, with Reeves’ passion and enthusiasm evident. Watching the A-lister speak in such a candid way to interviewees, including Ecclestone, proves without doubt that he is a fan.
Roger Palmer reviewed the documentary for What’s On Disney Plus and gave it 4.5/5.
Overall: “Brawn – The Impossible Formula One Story” is a fantastic documentary series that I really enjoyed. With just four episodes, it doesn’t spread out the story too much and keeps it focused. The addition of Keanu Reeves is very compelling; his voice-over and interviewing technique makes the show even more exciting; as you can tell, he loves the sport and has an ability to tell a compelling story. For me, to take a topic I had no interest in beforehand, tell me a story, educate me and, more importantly, entertain me, then that is the perfect documentary.
