47 Ronin Trailer Review – Fixed!

Many thanks to Movie Farm for tweeting the link to their review!

Chris Asiama has posted a review of the 47 Ronin trailer for Movie Farm. As typical of most reviews, the piece starts off with a synopsis of the Japanese tale and introduce the main characters. Mr. Asiama points out that Hollywood jazzed up the film with monsters and epic battles to the point that the film is more legend in nature than historical.

In general, the strong Japanese cast along with Keanu Reeves, the film sets reflective of feudal Japan and the magic and monster angles may give the film an advantage when it is released.

With respect to the trailer itself, Mr. Asiama says:

The trailer is effective and it takes time introducing the main characters particularly Kai who is obviously the big star. There is a nice balance between action and drama in the trailer too which is always welcome. It also provides just enough information about the plot without going into big spoilers and makes nice use of editing dissolves to soften the transitions between scenes.

The trailer was given a rating of 3.5/5 stars. The entire review is here.
