John Wick screenwriter, Derek Kolstad was on Dave Bullis’ Podcast on June 24, 2015 (episode 59). Unfortunately, I don’t see a way to fast forward the podcast. Around the 29 min mark, Mr. Kolstad talks about John Wick and some of his meetings with Keanu. On his meeting with Basil Iwanyk, there were around two hundred scripts on his desk but he choose his script. He talks about the contributions that Keanu made to the script rewrites. He also talks about the kind of guy Keanu is and gives examples. John Wick2 has about 3x the body count. Keanu has the script and according to Mr. Kolstad they’ll be meeting to talk about it. He sees JW2 franchise as chapters. If you have the time, it is a good listen.
