HuntleyFilm Archives ha posted three interview clips on youtube from an interview with Keanu Reeves on the set of Little Buddha. The clips appear to have come from the Behind the Scenes of Little Buddha DVD. They posted the following with the first clip:
Interview with actor Keanu Reeves who has been generously coated in fake tan. Asked whether it is intimidating to be playing a great religious/spiritual figure such as Siddhartha. Halfway through he has a little anecdote from his travels to Kathmandu. The anecdote perfectly describes a common reaction to Keanu being cast in this role!
The following comment accompanied the second clip:
Asked how we are supposed to think about the portrayal of Siddhartha in the film, whether he is a historical character or a parable. Keanu’s answer is rather funny. Considering the interviewers questions are normally cut out for sound bites, a two word answer like this is rather useless!
The following comment was with the third clip:
Keanu explains the story of Siddhartha in his own words, and seems to struggle to articulate his answer. He then explains that he’s not really in the mind-set for an interview talking directly to the camera. We all have those kind of days!
