At the Venice Film Festival on Sunday, Gabriele Muccino said that his next project will be a thriller or sci-fi film. He discussed the film in general terms but said that it could see Keanu Reeves cast as the lead. Could he be talking about Passengers? Time will tell if Muccino tossed Mr. Reeves’ name out there for publicity purposes or because a project is in the works.

Note: Earlier this year Jon Spaihts said in promo interviews for Prometheus that Passengers would happen and an announcement would be forthcoming. Muccino, who was originally tapped to direct this film, moved on to other projects when it developed funding problems.
