The Hollywood Reporter has a post up covering the Beijing’s FIlm Market’s Sino-Foreign Co-production Forum.
The panelists seemed to be in agreement that to successfully work with the Chinese film industry directors should tell stories that have something to say and tell a story that relate to every day life. Specially Keanu Reeves said that his directorial debut, Man of Tai Chi, was based on the life of Tiger Hu Chen. He said:
“He has traditional roots but he’s also a very modern guy. Man of Tai Chi has hopes and ambitions to entertain, but also to have something you can take away which has a positive message,” he added.
