Tonight at our 2019 Gala, ISSUE is delighted to honor renowned artist and Board member Robert Longo and ISSUE’s beloved late founder Suzanne Fiol — two artists who envisioned ISSUE from its earliest years, bringing a unique perspective to New York’s avant-garde performance landscape. The evening features performances by friends and colleagues including Marc Ribot, Janene Higgins, and Elliott Sharp, 2019 Artists-In-Residence Charmaine Lee and Rena Anakwe plus a performance of Rhys Chatham’s storied “Guitar Trio,” with Karen Haglof, Jonathan Kane, Jon Kessler, Robert Longo, Lee Ranaldo and Keanu Reeves. There will also be remarks from Michelle Handelman, Chris McIntyre, and Joan La Barbara plus archival works by Gretchen Bender, Suzanne Fiol, and Robert Longo.
