AGI has an interesting post up on the unique position Keanu Reeves is in to capture part of the Chinese box office with Man of Tai Chi. The film incorporates Chinese culture into the film with the Tai Chi story line and is in Mandarin, Cantonese as well as English. You throw in Keanu’s Chinese ancestry and the fact that he already has a following in China into the mix and he is in position to draw in the Chinese audience. In comparison, the latest Iron Man added in a few extra scenes with local stars and some key Chinese product placement to win over audiences but the ploy backfired.
