Michael Mahalachick’s exhibition, Last Arrangements, opened at the Louis B. James Gallery at 143b Orchard Street in NYC opened this weekend and runs through April 26. The exhibition includes sculptures, posters and other objects related to pop-culture. One of theposters is for My Own Private Idaho that features Keanu Reeves and River Phoenix. Mahalachick adored this particular poster with colorful condoms. The author of the piece had the following to say about the poster:
…it looks like a clueless Reeves is being harassed by radioactive cartoon sperm.

Note: Modern art isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. I don’t think the artist meant to be disrespectful to MOPI, Gus Van Sant, Keanu Reeves or River Phoenix but was just expressing his creative interpretation whatever that is. What some see as art, others see as crap. With respect to modern art, I would fall into the later category. Different strokes for different folks.
