Keanu Reeves To Star in Knock, Knock – Update

Deadline Hollywood is reporting that Keanu Reeves has committed to star in Knock, Knock, a psychological thriller. Eli Roth wrote and will direct the thriller. Keanu Reeves will play a happily married man who is home alone for two weeks. Two femme fatales, played by Lorenza Izzo and Ana de Armas, show up at his door and turn his life upside down. His wife will be played by Ignacia Allamand.

Roth confirmed the project to Deadline and said that Keanu loved the script and inaddition to signing on to the film, he is also on board as an executive producer. Production is set to begin on April 14 in Santiago, Chile.

The project will be going to Cannes to look for distributors. CAA is selling the domestic rights while Cassian Elwes is selling the foreign rights.

Additional details on the project can be viewed here.

Note: Press release says production starts April 14 and Roth says he will have a sizzle reel ready for Cannes. It looks like Passengers may have been moved to the back burner for the foreseeable future (with may being the operative word).

Update: Blog De Cine is reporting that they were aware of this project in early February and they also commented on how fast it advanced. They are posting the release date as 2015. In the Deadline article, Roth has said, he can have it ready for Toronto if necessary.

On his way to Uruguay in January for Carl Rinsch’s wedding, El Pais (reference from here) said that Keanu made a stop over in Santiago, Chile. You have to wonder if that was part of the original flight schedule or an intention stop over that was related to this film.

Keanu is supposed to arrive in Chile tomorrow. Hopefully the fans will twitter news and photos.
