Damon Houx interviewd Keanu Reeves for ScreenCrave. During the course of the interview, some of the things we learn about Side by Side include Keanu’s big surprise as he did all the interviews for the film, whether digital captures the depth of of the warmth of film, and his thoughts on older camera.
As one would expect, Man of Tai Chi came up during the course of the interview. Keanu discusses why he choose to go digital for the film, his experience as a first time director and how the crew treated him as a first time director.
Keanu mentions a gaffer and grip in the interview. For those interested, the gaffer is the head of the electrical department. He is responsible for designing and executing the lighting design. A grip is responsible for rigging cameras, the operation of cranes and dollies, erecting sets and non-electrical lighting control.
