Christine Sach’s from The Huffington Post published a piece this morning entitled: How Keanu Reeves Taught Me One of Life’s Most Important Lessons.
She recounts seeing Hardball and hearing the cliche from Conor O’Neill, Keanu Reeves’ character,
“One of the most important things in life is showing up.”.
She goes on to write about a recent personal experience involving one of her friends. She recounts how one of her friends didn’t show up for her. As she shares her thoughts she also comes to the conclusion that showing up for ourselves is also important and affects how we show up for others. She closes with:
What if — truly — one of the most important things in life is showing up? How do you show up for yourself and what you need? How do you show up for others and integrate what you need with where they’re at? What might happen if you showed up and shared the scary, messy stuff in service of your relationship?
All in all an interesting read.
