The press conference in Guangzhou has started. Keanu Reeves, Chen Hu and Yeh Qing are all in attendance. The MOTC weibo page is providing coverage.
Events came fast this morning. I was able to grab a few comments from the press conference feed.
Tiger talked about the two forms of tai chi in the movie, good and evil. He said Keanu was very careful in choosing the clothes and make-up that was used to portray good and evil for the characters.
Tiger was asked if it was by design that he wanted to be good but did not always follow the good road. He says the story develops where he starts to follow the dark tai chi and gradually gets lost.
It says the media asked a shap question and Keanu reacted! It didn’t say what the question was but Keanu responded that as a first step in my personal work, I first see the entertainment value and how it will reflect in different markets. He has high expectations for different markets. From the answer it sounds like he was asked about why he makes a film. It is not clear if it was films in general or specifically MOTC.
Keanu said there wasn’t much difference between filming in the US an China. He said he was honored to work with Karen Mok and SImon Yam. He was given much support and filming was smooth in China.
Note: the sun is up and I haven’t been to bed yet. I’m going to go nap and I will play catch up later.
