MTV Geek has placed Man of Tai Chi on their 10 most anticipated cult film list. They had the following to say about their choice:
…Not only is Reeves behind the camera on this one, but he’s taking on a rare villainous role as the man behind the fights who drafts Tiger Hu Chen’s Chen Lin-hu into the ring to test his Tai Chi against some of the world’s deadliest combatants. We’re not just optimistic because the fights in the trailer look convincingly staged, but because Reeves had the good sense to bring along Chen as well as Hong Kong stalwart Simon Yam and “The Raid” star Iko Uwais for the mayhem.
