Martial Arts Museum Hosts 47 Ronin Press Junket

The Martial Arts Museum in Burban, Ca hosted Universal’s 47 Ronin press junket today. The Museeum held a number of mini presentations on Japanese history and culture. A expert Samurai sword expert was present who demonstrated sword cutting for the press.

The article does not say if Keanu Reeves was present, but having a press junket without him would be odd, in my opinion.

The press release is here.

Update: I sent a tweet to Steve Weintraub at Collider and asked if any f the cast was at the Burbank press junket for 47 Ronin. He answered and said he didn’tknow – he wasn’t invited.

I have spent a fair amount of time today looking around at various twitter channels and the intertubes and there has been no chatter about this junket – nothing. Something as simple as the press conference for the Side by Side rollout on PBS resulted in a ton of tweets from the press that was present. Here you have a junket for a tentpole movie and nothing from the US press. Interesting way to promote or perhaps not promote a film.
