A Yahoo article recapped much of the same news that was in the press release that contained the poster and stills yesterday. However, the Yahoo post had several new bits of comments/information.
They discussed the stills and made a point of mentioning that Keanu played a bad guy. His black hair and pale face along with his frown made fans curious. In contrast, Chen Hu wore clothes in line with the tai chi theme, wearing a black and white bunt kung fu shirt.
They also notes that there were no photos of Karen Mok in this batch of stills and indicated that stills of her will be included in the next batch that is released. The delay of her stills was deliberate to allow the mystery of the policewoman she played to be discovered.
It is rumored that the Man of Tai Chi production budet was approximately $ 25M (about (4200M in Hong Kong). For a Hollywood production, this level of budget would be regarded as a low cost independent film but for a mainland China film it is considered a masterwork. The entire film contains a total of 18 fight scenes that time out to a total of 40 minutes. Keanu said he hoped to pay tribute to the classic Chinese martial arts movies.
