More Press Articles with Photos of Keanu Reeves – Update!

Thanks Ayako!

The Beijing News has posted a piece on the fan event from July 4 in Beijing. There is a really nice photo of  him with a fan from the audience. The piece gives the background of the film. and also includes the Q&A from the session. More importantly, the piece included the audience reviews. The article is readable with the google translator but here are a few notable points.

Audience Reviews

  • The action was cool, but the story was too simple. As an amateur director, Keanu Reeves was OK. 80 points
  • The movie really works and watching it was enjoyable. Keanu is the ultimate BOSS and the fight at the end was especially exciting. 80 points
  • The plot in general was fighting, heroic and passion. Does not have in depth understanding of tai chi. The final battle with the sinister boss and the wealth seeking tai chi son was illogical. 70 points
  • Plot was too routine but the fight scenes were unparalleled. 65 points

About the performers

  • MOTC is Chen Hu’s second film. The first Kung Fu Man has been finished for some time but not released. Chen Hu’s acting is relatively immature but he did not have many lines so he didn’t have the opportunity to display his ignorance.
  • Keanu’s efforts are based towards directing but he did his homework for his performance. He was thin in the film. After nearly three decades of acting, he did a good job directing for the first time.

About Photography

  • Elliot Davis whose resume includes Iron Lady and Twilight was the cinematographer for MOTC. His work in this film can be divided into the AB group for the filming. The Beijing portion of the film seems to be in the B group in terms of photographic effort and this may be a result of the foreign co-production

Ent.qq has posted a video, photos and transcript of the video from Keanu’s appearance on July 5. The video is restricted to those in China. You can use the google translator to read the article. There are three great photos of Keanu with stuffed penquins.

Update: Larger versions of the Tencent photos are here.
