Passengers Receives Funding from First Media – Update!

The Media Board in Berlin, Bradenburg has announced their first round of funding for upcoming film projects in 2014. Passengers starring Keanu Reeves and Rachel McAdams will receive 1 million euros in funding from the board. The film, which will be filmed at Studio Babelsburg, received the largest grant of the 35 projects to be funded.

Here my interpretation of the article:

Medienboard is a film promotion company for the Berlin-Brandenburg region. The Babelsberg film studios are located in the region of Brandenburg. In the press release, Medienboard announces which film projects will be financially support in 2014. Keanu’s project Passengers get a financial grant of 1 million euros. His film will shot soletly on the grounds of the Babelsberg filmstudios. One of the largest production halls, called Marlene-Diedrich-Hall, is converted to a space ship at the moment. Whether the support of Medienboards includes also the use of this hall, is not mentioned in the article.
