John Spaihts , who penned Passengers, was asked on twitter if it would still start filming in January 2014. He replied and said probably late February or early March. He tweeted earlier in the year that Passengers would get made and there would be an announcement soon and lo and behold that happened in April.
Deadline had reported in May that the film was set to kick off in January 2014.
