W. Peter Iliff has taken another look at Point Break for Sound on Sight’s Keanu Reeves month. Bigelow, Iliff says is interested in exploring why the surfers do what they do. In other words, what motivates Bodhi to rob banks and his quest for the finding the perfect wave and what is it about the surfer lifestyle that entices Johnny to adapt to it so easily.
With respect to Reeves, Iliff points out that he is able to use the surfer dude image acquired from Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure to his advantage in Point Break as we watch him transition from the straight laced FBI agent to an adrenaline junkie surfer.
