Q: Hi Keanu, can you recommend a book that you have recently read and loved?
A: Hi, yes… The Passenger by Cormac McCarthy and Stella Maris because that’s the companion book. Enjoy!
Q: out of all 4 john wick movies you have made so far, which one was the most challenging to shoot, and why?
A: Chapter 4…. it has the most action, gloriously.
Q: Hi Keanu, are there any directors or actors/actresses you haven’t worked with yet but would like to do so in the future if time permits?
A: Let’s go with David Fincher today
Q: If you weren’t acting, what other career would you choose?
A: Well, when I was a kid I always said I wanted to be a race car driver, a conductor or an astrophysicist. Today, let’s conduct some music.
Q: Have you ever stolen anything from a set?
A: Not stolen… the watch and wedding ring from John Wick, a sword from 47 Ronin, and the first red pill that the Wachowski’s ever gave me.
Q: Have you ever had a pet?
A: Yes… the first pet I ever had was guinea pig named Carrot. I was 5 or 6 years old. He was a cutie-pie.
Q: What’s a city that stands out as a wonderful place to be while you were filming?
A: Ahhh, Paris. 1987. I worked there on Dangerous Liaisons and it was extraordinary.
Q: What’s something awesome that someone did for YOU recently?
A: Hi Sno0pyBo0… you calling me awesome was the most recent example of something awesome someone did for me… and then a few weeks back my motorcycle broke down and a friend of mine walked me through how to fix it over Facetime.
Q: Seeing you as a characher in Cyberpunk 2077 was an incredible experience, I genuinely think Johnny Silverhand is one of your best roles.
Do you have any further plans on starring in computer games in the future? What is your attitude toward computer games overall?
A: Cool, thank you! I love Johnny Silverhand and I think all the folks at CD Projekt at friggin’ amazing! Video games are fun! And it’s cool how technology and storytelling are evolving in that space.

Q: What your favourite cocktail? Thanks!
A: I was recently in Tokyo working, and was taken to a bar owned by a master cocktail maker named Ueno-san called High Five and he made some kind of sublime concoction with a smoky mezcal and green tea and some mysterious sweet liqueur, chilled. Oh my god.
Q: Has there ever been a role in your career that you regret turning down?
A: …No…but I did always want to play Wolverine.
Q: Have you spoken with James Gunn at all in regards to Constantine 2? Hope we get to see it!
A: Yes, and me too.
Q: Hey Keanu! What motorcycles are you currently riding the most and what are you eyeing up to add to your collection next?
A: Ooooweeee! Currently my ARCH motorcycle and… I always dreamed of having a Vincent Black Shadow… one can always dream.
Q: What is your favourite film that you’ve worked on?
A: Aaaaaaaahhhhhhhh!!!!!!! F*ck, aaaaaahhhhhhhhh…I’ve been very fortunate to work on a few films that have changed my life. I can’t pick just one. But here are a few- River’s Edge, Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure, Matrix trilogy, The Devil’s Advocate, A Scanner Darkly, My Own Private Idaho, Point Break, John Wick.
Q: What’s your favorite moment or memory from working on point break?
A: Working with Patrick Swayze. He was a gentlemen and a total pro, a movie star, an inspiration.
Q: Hello Mr Reeves, have you ever experienced anything paranormal in real life?
A: Hello Ferocious-Muppet, Boo!…yes. When I was a little kid I was sitting in a room with a nanny and I thought I saw a ghost in the doorway and I looked over at my nanny and she looked really scared…I didn’t know what the heck was going on.
Q: If aliens came to Earth, would you accept the responsibility of being the first to contact them?
A: Heck yea. How’s it going? How was your trip? You hungry? Want anything to drink?
Q: Hey Keanu! Can you tell us a fun experience you’ve had with co-stars while filming?
A: Can’t tell that story…can’t tell that story…can’t tell that story…
I had a scene with River Phoenix and he was sitting on the back of a motorcycle that I was driving while we were filming. It wasn’t extracurricular, but we went off the beaten path a bit and came back and no helmets. Just two friends playing. It was a really good day.
Q: Unrelated to film, what are you passionate about?
A: like me some motorcycles, typewriters, Japanese whisky, playing in the band, learning, reading, and some fine red wine.
Q: Do you still play bass at all?
Is it true that Kim Gordon borrowed your bass for one of Sonic Youth’s videos? And that you and Mike Watt argued beforehand over whose bass she’d play in the video?
What bands have you been listening to recently?
A: Yes, yes, no… Kim Gordon is cool, and so is Mike Watt!
I’ve been listening to Alvvays, Daughter, and Bill Evans trio.
Q: What hobbies do you have?
A: I don’t have hobbies… but I do like playing ping pong.
Q: Hello Keanu, what is the number 1 item on your bucket list? Thank you for all the amazing work!
A: …My bucket list is getting really long…the #1s change but today let’s go with sailing across an ocean.
Q: Keanu, what is your favorite food to eat? Any comfort food that reminds you of early Childhood? Thanks!
A: …Shepherd’s pie…macaroni and cheese, peanut butter and honey sandwich. I’m hungry
Q: Have you read any of the books by Joseph Campbell (The Power of Myth, The Hero With a Thousand Faces, etc) and if so, how have they affected how you view your role as storyteller and actor?
A: Hmmmm…yes…Hero With a Thousand Faces…the work gave me a wonderful context about how to think about and express archetypes and connecting ancient journeys and myths to modern storytelling.
Q: Have you ever thought of playing in a musical? I heard you did say in the past that you would want to try different movie genres. What do you think about it now?
A: Yes, I would love to be in a musical…but I can’t sing so I’m not sure anybody else would want me in a musical.. but I sure would try. I mean I could sing, but not really well. I can always dream…
Q: Has it been discussed for you and Denzel to ever star in John Wick x Equalizer crossover film?
A: …Ha…no…that would be crazy. Crazy good!
Q: What NHL team is your team?
A: …any Canadian Olympic team
But in the NHL, hometown- Toronto Maple Leafs
Q: Pineapple on pizza: Yay, nay, or neutral?
A: Nay…but yay if the pineapple is slightly roasted.
Q: So is the matrix real?
A: Yes. No. Yes.
Q: Hey Keanu. Do you prefer the kung fu training you did for the Matrix or the jiu-jitsu you do for John Wick?
A: …Nothing can ever compare to the kung fu training from the Matrix because it was so unique and my first time…but the jiu jitsu in John Wick being integrated with judo and gunfights can never be touched in its own way.
Q: My wife wants to be your wife
A: Ha! …No she doesn’t.
Q: What drives you to be so compassionate?
A: …we die…and we all need all the help we can get.
Q: My question: let’s say you’re getting ready for a long flight and could only pick 1-2 movies to bring and watch.
Which movies are you bringing?
A: ..AAAAAAAHHHHHHH…today…let’s go with A Clockwork Orange and The Wizard of Oz
Q: Hi!! What are your feelings on birds?
A: Birds are cool…I sometimes wish I was a bird…if only for a fleeting moment.
Q: Shower in the morning or shower at night? Which do you prefer?
A: Shower in the morning…let’s go!
Q: Are there any of your movies that you can watch purely as a viewer and just forget that you are watching yourself?
Love your work and your work ethic.
A: …Thank you, appreciate that…no…I can’t forget…but I can watch them as a viewer at the same time.
Q: When will you do a hot ones interview?
A: …I love chicken wings…but I don’t want to eat really spicy chicken wings…especially not in public…and certainly not with the consequences in private. Bon apetit.
Q: Researches from Germany found a compound naturally produced by some type of bactaria that is so effective at killing fungi, they named it after you: keanumycins
“The lipopeptides kill so efficiently that we named them after Keanu Reeves because he, too, is extremely deadly in his roles,” Götze said in a statement.
What are your thoughts about that?
A: …Hi, thank you…they should’ve called it John Wick…but that’s pretty cool…and surreal for me. But thanks, scientist people! Good luck, and thank you for helping us.
Q: What is the best advice you’ve ever received?
A: …I haven’t really received a lot of advice…but I’ve met quite a few people who led by example…one of the best examples being perseverance.
