All of the major film sites have covered the release of the Japanese 47 Ronin trailer and poster by Universal. All of the pieces included the trailer and one of the various posters. Pieces ranged from positive to neutral to negative. And then there was the Indiewire piece that deemed the poster hilarious, the CGI-effects a mess and went on record saying that it lacks an easily digestible plot and:
..gotta be honest, we still kinda have no clue what the fuck is going on in this thing.
The 47 Ronin script, which was written by Chris Morgan, was on the 2008 Black List and can be found via a google search. I read an early draft version and it was a good read. The US trailer does a decent job of introducing the storyline while the international trailer introduces the cast. For those who have read the script, it is clear that both trailers are right on the money. How the script translates to film remains to be seen.

Note X2: Pieces are still coming out from film sites chiming in on the trailer. At this point they all say pretty much the same and follow one of the three patterns. I won’t be adding any other pieces.
