Tourmaline’s short film, Salacia was acquired by the Museum of Modern Art in NYC for their permanent collection. Keanu Reeves was the executive producer for the film. Salacia premieres on Thursday, June 25 at 8:00 pm on the museum’s website. Right now, there the film is not appearing on the MoMA’s site.

Barnard Center for Research on Women has more information on the director and Salacia. The film is about a black trans sex worker and outlaw in New York City in 1836. take place in Seneca Village, a free Black land-owning community and underground railroad stop in Upper Manhattan.
