Deadline has posted that the trailer for The Sponge Bob Movie: Sponge on the Run trailer is out. Keanu has a cameo in the film and appears as a tumbleweed named The Sage. The film is slated to open in theaters on May 22, 2019.

On June 12, 2019 photos of Keanu appeared in costume outside of Paramount Studios (covered here). At the time we thought it may have been for Bill & Ted 3. In fact, he was there filming his cameo for The Sponge Bob Movie. You can see his necklaces in the tumbleweed screen cap below.
